Hendrik Kempt started at RWTH in 2020 and works as a postdoctoral scholar at the Applied Ethics Group. He studied philosophy and sociology at HHU Düsseldorf (B.A.) and at HU Berlin (M.A.), worked in interdisciplinary research projects at Uni Siegen while doing research stays at University of Missouri - Columbia/MO, University of Soutern California (USC) in Los Angeles/CA, and Brown University in Providence/RI. He did his PhD on the ethics of AI in medical diagnostics and works now in the research project “VEREINT” to technologically mediated intimacy and connection.

Besides that, his research interests include applied ethics (AI ethics, medical ethics, human-machine interaction), metaethics and philosophy of language, social philosophy, the philosophy of Hans Blumenberg as well as philosophy of religion.

He is a member of the AISB, SPT, a fellow at FoKoS of the University of Siegen, and a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
